"You people are all mixed up. We know nothing about the Blincoe's you are talking about. Our Family of 4 brothers, 1 sister, one grandfather came to this country in the late 1800 hundreds at the Port of Entry in New York from Riwa Italy the imigration could not spell or pronounce our name Bianco so they spelt it Blincoe. My family all came from the one family so we are vary small only two Brothers me & my brother Felix Blincoe
I am not donating any 3.00 as I know my ancestry already & how many their are of us I never ask for the letter in the first place. anyway it was 22c to mail this is Just a Ripoff as far as I am conserned. so dont mail any thing else."
BENJAMIN BLINCOE (So you see, all Blincoes are NOT Blincoe, or is someone putting us on? ED)
"....What little I know was that my great grandfather came over from England as a 7 year old. He landed in Virginia, but did not stay there. He was an orphan and some family brought him to live with them ( he was not "adopted"). They moved to Pennsylvania well before the Civil War..... After the war, he moved to Columbas, Kansas...."
HOMER P BLINCOE, TUCKER., GA
"...I remember as a youngster, my father telling me that our family originated in England ........ I have never met or heard of anyone (other than our immediate family) who has ever known of the Blincoe name before this ....... Thank you for writing."
JAMES E BLINCOE, KIRKWOOD, NY
Just as we are going to press we received this letter
and had to take time to include it --
"...We have been to England and I went to thank you so much for putting me
on to Kathryn Lockhart (at Blencow Hall]. Yes, we did see her and even spent
the night. Did you know her place was a 'Bed & Breakfast' as well as a
working farm? .. She showed us a great time... Apparently their farming has
not been profitable and all tourism is very slow this past summer. The government
has set limits on their dairy operation production ... they had to put the
farm on the market this summer [but have withdrawn it and are going to try
sheep farming as well as the B&B ). She wanted to know how she could advertize
to maybe attract more people up there for Bed & Breakfast."
MARY BLINCOE, KANSAS CITY, MO [This is one way of advertizing and I am sending Kathryn copies of our letters, which I have been intending to do sooner. Editor.]
