A date for your diary: Tina Stapley will be lecturing at Sulgrave Manor on Sunday and Monday 1-2 May. She will be talking about cookery (and Blencowes) in the manor kitchen in the mornings and about herbs in the afternoon. In addition to being the ancestral home of the Washington family (who were related by marriage to the Blencowes), Sulgrave Manor also hosts the national herb collection.
If you want an interesting day out you can enjoy a tour of the manor, see Tina in her lovely “Lady Ann” dress and maybe call in at nearby Marston St Lawrence and look at the many Blencowe memorials there.
The daughter of an old colleague of mine runs the village pub in Sulgrave and serves excellent food.
