The responses for the Port Macquarie reunion indicate we are looking at a possible 150 persons. This includes 22 from overseas.
The Johnson & Bailey families have put together a very flexible program for people arriving in Sydney prior to travelling to Port Macquarie.

Tuesday, 22 April, 2008 at possibly 9am: an organised walk in the scenic Botanic Gardens for one and half hours viewing our unique flora and covering the history of the gardens. After morning tea, options will include doing things in the city, Sydney Opera House, trip to Manly or other ferry trips with lunch at various spots. Our hosts would accompany different interest groups if needed. Dinner at night in the city is also a consideration.
They need definite numbers for the walk in the gardens as Glenn may need to organise an additional guide. This walk would cost possibly $5 per person (which goes to the Botanic Gardens).
Our host members could also be available on the Wednesday if someone wanted to do something special. This would then leave time to travel to Port Macquarie.
Although people have been encouraged to stay longer in Port Macquarie, the reunion registration will begin about midday on Friday 25 April.
For those of you interested in sharing a bit of Aussie and New Zealand culture we do invite you to experience the local Anzac Day ceremonies:
Port Macquarie Cenotaph |
5:30am: Dawn Service at the Cenotaph
7:00am: Gunfire Breakfast
10:00am: Anzac Day March.
Two-up, a Digger's game of chance, only legal on Anzac Day might interest some. It is played at various venues.
The venue for Friday afternoon will either be a surf club or a winery with the evening meal at an historic hotel. Being Anzac Day, the Blencowe Roll of Honour will be read remembering those who gave their lives at war. Please get your profiles on your war dead to Anne for inclusion in the Book/CD to be launched that day if complete - see last newsletter.
Saturday and Sunday will possibly be at the Port Macquarie Race Club with a wide range of facilities. We do need to estimate numbers before deciding on venues and events which need to be reserved 12 months in advance.
See Yah in Port
