“The Second Year History undergraduates have what they call a ‘Thesis History Fair’ in May to prepare them for the extended essay that they have to write in their third year, and I was invited to be on the College’s stall this year. It was held in the Examination Schools.
I thought that I would make up a 14th century sweet recipe and also bring along Lady Ann’s Receipt book with a little explanatory note to show them that recipes tell a lot about the people of the day. The Receipt Book of Lady Anne Blencowe is available for £8 plus postage and handling and is a worthwhile inclusion in any home library.
