DIED Last Wed at Egremont, "in an advanced age", Mrs Blencowe, widow of the late Mr Peter Blencowe, surgeon of Whitehaven, and sister to Mrs Ashton of Underley.

6 Dec 1777

DIED: Wed last week, "of a most rapid decline", in his 32nd year: Mr John Blencowe, at Lowick Hall, home of his brother Dr Blencowe. "The mildness and sweetness of his disposition obtained him the esteem of all those who were his intimates in his life time, as they now truly lament his death."
