New Australian Immigrants

Roger and Halina Blinko formerly of New Zealand have moved to Melbourne in Victoria. This is their 8th country move so they have it down to a fine art.

Wilfred Blencowe formerly of Belgium is of no fixed abode as he awaits permission to settle before deciding on a place to retire. He will live in NSW.

We welcome you to our country and may your decision to migrate be the best yet.

On a Sad Note

Joan Hicks (1941-2010) A member for several years and generous supporter of the BFA died at Sydney in July. She leaves her 95 year old mother, husband, children, grandchildren and brothers.

Godfrey Buswell, husband of Carol, died in Melbourne in June.

Members will remember both Joan and Godfrey at the Port Macquarie Reunion in 2008.

When and where will the next reunion be held?

The next reunion is due to be held in 2012; however, the date and place will be the choice of whoever is prepared to run it.

Places so far mentioned as a venue include Perth, Western Australia, New York, USA and Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia.

As more and more people are attending from abroad, we need to have a firm idea by the November or February newsletters so international travellers can start sourcing fares and planning their trips to make take in more than just the reunion. We therefore ask that anyone who’d like to be considered for hosting a Blencowe Families' Association reunion, please forward you proposal, including tentative dates, place and possible event plans, to Peter who will confer with Jack and other seniors of the group before confirming the next reunion.
