Blencowe Families' Association Newsletter Vol. 21 No. 1 May 2006

Letter from the Editor

Dear Cousins,

For a variety of reasons I'm late again with what should be the March issue. However, whilst I have been delayed other things have happened to relieve some of my doom and gloom.

Good news is that Anna Burton in NSW has volunteered to take over this newsletter: This is particularly important for I seem to have lost some of the dexterity in my left hand, leading to countless typing errors and a lot of frustration. It will probably pay to continue printing and distribution from Oxford; Anne will send me the files by e-mail. ( If/when I pop my clogs the printer can accept copy direct by e-mail). With luck we'll get three issues out this year, but certainly not four.

For some years Nancy Bruyn has kindly looked after payments in Australian dollars. Anne has also volunteered to take on this task and use her English accent from time to time to transfer the relatively small amounts to Oxford without incurring bank charges. However, I am the sole signatory of the UK account: I must have someone to share this responsibility, if the aforementioned clogs get popped we'll be in trouble.

Internet contacts continue to be frequent and interesting. Benn Blincoe in California is keeping our website rolling and numbers of people are using the interactive website that Roger Blinko in NZ has started up. I would advise you of the access address:
<http://groups.yahoo.com/group/blencowe-and-variations_family_history/>
if you have problems with that, contact Roger directly at rogerblinko @ xtra.co.nz .

I have had no further news of the 2007 reunion, and wondered whether it's actually going to take place. However, for an exciting (or additional) venue in early 2008, turn to p.11.
