Blencowe Families’ Association Newsletter | Vol. 24 No. 1 February 2009 |
As expected the places for accommodation at Blencow Hall were rapidly taken up and there is a waiting list both in Australia and the UK. I am sorry for those who applied too late, but you may yet be lucky, as plans do change.
The 3 day Reunion, taking place June 26th , 27th ,and 28th 2010 is still 15 months ahead and, though I do have a list of nearby Hotels and B&Bs, it does seem a little premature to send it out as most landladies won't have their 2010 booking lists open yet. However a list will appear in a future newsletter and I am quite happy to make suggestions if anyone contacts me for information prior to this.
My wife and I will be making a second visit next October to Blencow to finalise a programme, but I can confirm that there will be a central event on each day.
Saturday, June 26- in the evening, there will be a Blencowe Family dinner at Blencow Village Hall.
Sunday, June 27, a tea party in the gardens of Blencow Hall, courtesy of Charles Rowley.
Monday June 28, a tour of Greystoke Castle, courtesy of Neville Howard.
There will be a charge for each of these events, details of which will be sent out in a future newsletter. I am hoping to add further events to the programme, which I will be able to confirm later.
Though I am not asking for exact numbers at present, it may help if you could either e-mail or ring me if you are provisionally planning to be with us at the reunion, and haven't yet done so.
